Lesson Learned:  When we work together, we can do more for God.

Materials Needed: 3 pieces of ribbon or string, each about 12 inches long

Bible Verse:
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
   two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Talking Points:  God created each and every one of us as special, unique people.  But He also created us to be around and help other people.   Often two people can accomplish something that one person couldn’t do on their own.  Think of time when your mommy needed to help you lift something because it was too heavy for you to do by yourself.   When you and your mommy and God all do something together, you will be able to do anything.

Question:  Have you ever fallen down and needed help getting up? Who helped you? Why are some things easier to do when someone helps you?

Activity:    Show your child how to braid the strands of ribbon or string.  Let them try to do it too.

Prayer:  Thank You, God, for giving us friends and family to help make us stronger.  Help us accomplish something together today that we couldn’t do by ourselves.  Amen!
