Materials Needed: favorite new toy the child received for Christmas
Bible Verse:
Colossians 3:9-10
9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Talking Points: Everyone likes new things. You probably got some new things for Christmas, didn’t you? God likes new things, too, specifically He likes it when we become new people who follow Him and obey His commandments that are in the Bible. Someday you may be filled with the Holy Spirit, deciding to follow Jesus every day, and when you do God will give you a new heart and new mind to serve Him. And God will love His new you!

Activity: Spend some good quality time playing with your child and his favorite new toy.
Prayer: Holy God, thank You for making us new when we decide to follow You and Your Ways. We want to know You more and more so someday we will make the decision to follow You. Lead us in this every day. Amen!
