Lesson Learned:  God wants you to tell Him everything.

Materials Needed: construction paper, scissors, tape, markers, plastic cup, sippy cup with water

Bible Verse:
Psalm 62:8
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
   pour out your hearts to him,
   for God is our refuge.

Lamentations 2:19a
19 Arise, cry out in the night,
   as the watches of the night begin;
pour out your heart like water
   in the presence of the Lord.

Talking Points:  God wants us to tell Him everything. If we are worried about something or scared about something or even excited about something, God wants us to tell Him.  He wants us to pour out what is in our hearts and minds to Him.  A great time to do this is when your praying—maybe before you go to bed at night or when you wake up in the morning.  You can talk to God anytime!

Questions:  Do you have anything that scares or worries you?  Is there anything exciting that happened today that you want to tell God about?  Did you know you can talk to God anytime and tell Him what is on your mind?

Activity:
Cup Heart
Cut out the shape of a heart.  Let the child decorate it with markers.  Then, tape the heart to the plastic cup.  Fill the sippy cup with water and let the child pour the water into the heart cup.

Prayer:   Dear Lord, thank You for caring about everything in my life.  You know what scares us and what worries us and we can tell You all about these things. Thank You for being a compassionate and caring Father. Amen!
