Lesson Learned:   No one is more powerful than God.

Materials Needed: Construction paper, pencil, scissors

Bible Verse:
Isaiah 48:12-13
12 “Listen to me, Jacob,
   Israel, whom I have called:
I am he;
   I am the first and I am the last.
13 My own hand laid the foundations of the earth,
   and my right hand spread out the heavens;
when I summon them,
   they all stand up together.

Isaiah 44:24
24 “This is what the LORD says—
   your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb:    I am the LORD,
   the Maker of all things,
   who stretches out the heavens,
   who spreads out the earth by myself,

Talking Points:  God alone made Heaven and Earth.  When there was nothing in the sky, no stars, no moon, no clouds, He reached out His mighty hands and created them.  God is more powerful and wise than anything we can think of.  Simply by stretching out His hands He can create and measure the Heavens.

Questions:   Can you think of anyone more powerful than God? Who can you think of that has big hands?  Could they measure Heaven with their hands like God?

Activity:  Take turns tracing hands with the child.  Cut them out and then “measure” the wall by putting down the hands on the floor.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, You are so powerful and wise.  You measure the Heaven with Your hands.  We know we can never understand You but help us to always trust You. Amen!
