Lesson Learned: When we trust and believe in God, we have many, many blessings.
Materials Needed: plate, cup, vinegar, food coloring, baking soda, spoon
Bible Verse:
Psalm 23:5
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Talking Points: God blesses our lives when we believe and trust in Him. This does not mean that we will get everything we ask for or live a life only of happiness. But it does mean that God is always with us and that He gives us many, many blessings such as joy and hope in Him always! He gives us so many blessings that “our cup overflows!”
Questions: What does it mean when I say “your cup overflows”? Does that mean you have to be happy all the time? (Of course not!)
Activity: Put a cup on a plate and fill it about half full with vinegar. Put a few drops of food coloring into the vinegar. Let the child spoon about 1 teaspoon of baking soda into the vinegar and watch it overflow!
Prayer: Dear Lord, please guide us to listen to the Holy Spirit and make our cup overfill with Your Spirit! Amen!
