Lesson Learned:  God wants us to cleanse our life from sin.
Materials Needed:  old sock, bowl of water
Bible Verse :
Mark 11:15-18
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
Talking Points:  Jesus does not like sin.  When He saw the people sinning at the temple, He got angry and turned the tables upside down.  He did this because the temple was supposed to be a special, holy place for people to worship God.  Instead, people were selling items for too much money and were ignoring God.  Jesus was cleansing the temple from sin and He wants us to do the same things in our life. We should not have sin in our lives.
Questions:  Why was Jesus mad?  What is a sin?  Can you ask God to forgive one of your sins today?
Activity:
Give the child an old sock and let them dip it in water and put it on their hand. Let them help you clean up the kitchen floor.

Song to Sing:
Say, “I Am!” (tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know it”)
“If you are cleaning up, say, “I am.”
“I am!”
If you are cleaning up, say, “I am.”
“I am!”
If you are cleaning up,
If you are cleaning up,
If you are cleaning up, say, “I am.”
“I am!”
