Lesson Learned:  God makes us clean.

Materials Needed: laundry (who doesn’t have plenty of that?), washer or dryer

Bible Verse:
Isaiah 64:6
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
   and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
   and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

John 15:3
3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

Talking Points:  We are all full of sin.  Whenever we disobey our parents or lie or refuse to share our toys, we are sinning.  God wants us to be free of sin and to be more like Him.  We need His help to get sin out of our lives.  It is only because of Jesus and Jesus’ death on the cross that we celebrated at Easter that we are cleansed of our sin.  To God, sin is like dirt all over our clothes (filthy rags).  But one day, if we trust Jesus, we will be in Heaven, dressed in clean, white robes, cleansed of our sin.  And those clothes will never get dirty again!

Question:  Have you ever gotten really, really messy? How did you get your clothes clean?   Do you like to help your mom or dad do the laundry?

Activity: Let your child help you do the laundry.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, we confess our sins to you and ask you to cleanse our hearts and souls.  We do not want to our acts to be filthy rags but acts that glorify you.  We want to be dressed in white before you one day. Amen!
