Lesson Learned: We believe in one God: the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Materials Needed: printer, green crayon, black marker, scissors
Bible Verse:
Matthew 28:19
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
John 10:38
But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
Exodus 20:3
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.”
Talking Points: There is only one God. Jesus was God and came to earth as a man to tell us all about Himself and about Heaven. God also sent the Holy Spirit to help lead us and guide us to Him and to know God. We believe in one God: the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (For older children, you might mention that this is called the trilogy.) God wants us to love Him more than anything else! God is Our Father, Jesus is His Son, and the Holy Spirit is our Counselor. They are all a part of God–just like we can see in this shamrock we are going to make today.
Questions: Is there more than one God? Is Jesus God? Is the Holy Spirit God? Does God want you to love anyone more than Him?
Activity: Print off this shamrock outline.
