Lesson Learned: Jesus went to Heaven on a cloud.
Materials Needed: big, white sheet
Bible Verse:
Acts 1:9-11
9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Talking Points:
Jesus died and then came back to life, all according to God’s plan. After He came back to life, He visited His friends and He taught them all about God. He only stayed for 40 days and then it was time for Him to go back to Heaven. Jesus rode on a cloud to get back to Heaven.
Questions: Who rode the cloud back to Heaven? Where was He going? What do you think it would feel like to ride on a cloud?
Activity: Spread the sheet on the floor, and let the child crawl into the middle of it. Then grab two ends of the sheet and pull the child around, letting them “ride on a cloud”.
