Lesson Learned: Jesus came from Heaven.
Materials Needed: paper plate, blue and green paper, gluestick
Bible Verses:
John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Talking Points: Jesus is God’s Son. He has been with God forever, but some time ago, He came to earth and was born just like other babies are. This was all part of God’s plan to save us from sin and give us a way to go to Heaven. God sent Jesus down from Heaven to save us from sin. All people who believe in Jesus will go to Heaven.
Questions: Where did Jesus come from? Why did God send Him? How do you think Jesus saves us (could get some interesting answers here 🙂 )?
Activity: Let the child tear the green and blue paper and glue it onto the paper plate, making a “world.”
Prayer: Holy, powerful and mighty God, thank You for sending You Son to us from Heaven so that we could be saved from sin and one day enter Heaven with You. Please help us keep sin out of our lives. Amen!
