Lesson Learned: God is a God of order.
Materials Needed: puzzle
Bible Verse:
1 Corinthians 14:33
33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
1 Corinthians 14:40
39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
Talking Points: God is a God of order. He has a purpose and a plan for every detail of our lives. He gives us commandments in the Bible to help Him follow His orders and His instructions.
Questions: Did you know that your mom and dad probably organize (insert something you organize like the toys, the kids clothes, etc)? Explain to the kids how you organize it. (We put your dresses in the closet; we always put the cars in the bucket near your bed; the stuffed animals go in the toy chest, etc). God organizes the details of our life, too.
Activity: Empty a puzzle onto a table (it does not necessarily need to be a kid’s puzzle). Let the child help you sort out the pieces into appropriate categories: all the blue pieces go in a pile, all the edge pieces go in a pile, etc. Let the child do this until they get board. Then, they can help you put the puzzle pieces back into the box.
Prayer: Awesome Lord and God, You are a God of Order. You know every detail of our lives and You know exactly why everything happens. Thank You for that. Amen!
