Lesson Learned: Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden.
Materials Needed: brown and green construction paper, glue, red marker, piece of paper
Bible Verse:
Genesis 2:8-9
8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Talking Points: God created the first man and woman and named them Adam and Eve. He also gave them a home in a garden called Eden. The Garden of Eden was a beautiful place with all kinds of trees.
Questions: What were the names of the first man and woman? Where did they live? What did the Garden of Eden look like?
Activity: Cut out a brown rectangle onto sheet of paper. Help the child glue it onto the paper like a tree trunk. Trace the child’s hands on the green construction and cut out. Let the child glue the hands to the top of the tree trunk like leaves. Then, let the child decorate the leaves with fruit (dots made with the red marker).
Prayer: Dear God, You are our source of joy and we want to always shout our praises to You. Thank You for giving us music and praises to sing to You. Amen!
