Lesson Learned: Jesus was a carpenter.
Materials Needed: golf tees, Styrofoam block, toy hammer
Bible Verse:
Mark 6:3
3 Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
Talking Points: Before Jesus began His full time ministry (job) of teaching God’s Word, He was a carpenter. A carpenter is someone who builds things like cabinets or wood benches or houses. He would have been very good at putting things together and building things. God gave Jesus these special skills, just like He has given You special skills too.
Questions: Do you like to build things with blocks or other toys? What do you like to build? Do you know anyone who is a carpenter?
Activity:
Tiny Carpenter
Let the children hammer the golf tees into the Styrofoam block.

Prayer: God, You have an important job for all of us to do and You give us all special gifts to use, just like You gave Jesus to be a carpenter. Help us to use those skills for Your glory! Amen!
