Lesson Learned:  Jesus is God’s Son.

Materials Needed: none

Bible Verse:
Mark 1:1
1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God

Luke 1:31-33
31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Talking Points:  We are about to celebrate one of the most special times of year for a Christian, a time called Christmas.  During the Christmas season, we get ready to remember and celebrate Jesus’ birth.  Jesus was God’s Son and God sent Him here to teach us about His Father and to show us the way to get to Heaven (there is only way and it’s through Jesus!).   In a couple of days, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and all the blessings God has given us.  We should make sure to remember to thank Him for sending His Son Jesus to save us from sin!

Questions:  Whose Son is Jesus?  Why do you think God sent His Son here from Heaven?

Activity:  Teach the child this song.
(sung to tune to Jingle Bells)

Son of God, Son of God, Jesus is God’s Son
Jesus Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day, hey!

Prayer: Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your Son Jesus. Thank you for sending us a savior to free us from our sin. Amen!
