Lesson Learned: God gives us strength.
Materials Needed: plastic grocery sacks
Bible Verse:
Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Talking Points: Did you know that God can do anything? He never grows tired and He never needs a nap. Not like us, we need a nap everyday! What kinds of things make you tired or frustrated? Did you know that God will give you strength to do those things? If you get frustrated trying to learn something new, like tie your shoes or put on your clothes, pray to God to help you. He will give you strength. God makes us soar and accomplish things we never thought we could do. He gives us strength and helps us reach new heights, just like God helps an eagle soar.
Questions: Have you ever gotten frustrated before? What were you trying to do? Did you ask God to give you strength? Do you know what soar means? (It’s like flying!)
Activity:
Fly Away Sack
Toss the grocery sacks into the air. Try to catch them. Try to run under them. Just make them soar!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are mighty. You are strong. Thank You for giving us strength, helping us out, and making us soar. Amen!
