Lesson Learned:  God breathes life into us. He gives us the Holy Spirit.

Materials Needed: cup filled with a small amount of water and dish soap, drinking straw, towel

Bible Verse:
Genesis2:7-8
7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

John 20:21-22
21Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Talking Points:
God gives us life.  He fills us with the Holy Spirit.  When God created Adam, the very first man, he breathed into his nostrils and gave him life.  When Jesus was with the disciples, he filled them with the Holy Spirit.  You can’t have life without being full of the Holy Spirit.

Questions:
What is the Holy Spirit?

Activity:
Place a towel on the table.  Take the cup with about a 1/4 water and small amount of dish soap.  Use the straw to blow bubbles into the cup.

You can sing this song when you get done:
One little, two little, three little bubbles,
Four little, five little, six little bubbles,
Seven little, eight little, nine little bubbles,
Ten little bubbles go POP! POP! POP!

Ten little, 9 little, 8 little bubbles,
7 little, 6 little, 5 little bubbles,
4 little, 3 little, 2 little bubbles,
1 little bubble goes POP! POP! POP!

Prayer:

Thank you, God, for giving us the Holy Spirit and Life!  We love you and thank you for the eternal life you have given us through this Holy Spirit.  Please help us to live in ways that always honor the life you have given us.  Amen!
