Materials Needed: none
Bible Verse:
1 Cor 15:1-2
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
1 Cor 15:58
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Cor 16:3
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Talking Points: God wants us to stand firm in our beliefs. Standing firms means that you don’t let anything else move you or change your mind. We must be strong in our faith and love for Jesus and God. God wants us to do everything the best that we can for Him.
Questions: What does it mean to stand firm? Can you think of something that is unmovable? (e.g. a wall, the couch, etc) Do you try to do your best for God in everything?
Activity:
Have the child stand on both feet and try to move them. Then have the child stand on one foot and try to move them. As you do so, explain how they are stronger and more firm with both feet on the ground. Take turns letting them try to move you standing on one and two feet.
Prayer: Lord God, please help us stand firm in our beliefs and help us to be strong in our faith. Amen!
