Lesson Learned:  God wants us to share our things.

Materials Needed:  red or pink construction paper, scissors

Bible Verse:
Acts 4:32-35
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Talking Points:  When churches following Jesus first started, they shared everything.  People realized that nothing was really “theirs” but that everything they had belonged to God so they all shared it among themselves.  No one was hungry or homeless since they all shared everything they had with one another.  These believers were one in heart and mind and took care of each other the way God wants us to.

Questions:  Is it always easy to share?  Who do you share your toys with?  What toys are hard for you to share? Why do you think God wants us to share?

Activity:  Cut out a heart from the construction paper.   Then cut the heart into 3 or 4 pieces like puzzle pieces.  Have the child put the heart back together.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, You know it is not always easy for us to share.  Everything we have is because You gave it to us.  Please help us remember this and to share with our friends with happy hearts. Amen!
