Lesson Learned: We need to seek God’s kingdom before all other things.
Materials Needed: 6 triangles cut of construction paper, marker
Bible Verse:
Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Luke 12:31
31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
Talking Points:
God wants us to pursue His kingdom before anything else. God’s kingdom is Heaven. God wants the most important thing in our lives to be Him and seeking to see Him on His throne one day. Seeking means to find or pursue something. God does not want us to ever stop seeking a life for Him!
Questions: Who is your favorite person to play hide and go seek with? Did you have fun searching for that person? Do you like to seek God in your life everyday too?
Activity:
Cut out 6 identical triangles. On the triangles, put H-E-A-V-E-N (one letter on each triangle). Then, tell the child that the letters spell Heaven. (You may want to have them identify the letters with you.) Hide the triangles around the house and let the child go on a Heaven Hunt to find the letters. Older children will have fun trying to spell the word also.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we want to seek You and Your kingdom everyday. Please help us to find You in all our ways today and make our ways Your ways. Amen!
