Lesson Learned: God’s face is bright.
Materials: construction paper, scissors, q-tip, small bowl of water
Bible Verse:
Daniel 10:6
6 His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
Matthew 28:2-3
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
Talking Points: Lightning is strong and powerful. God is strong and powerful, too. One day, we will go to Heaven and see God and He will probably be brighter than any lightning we’ve ever seen. God’s glory and holiness make Him bright, bright, bright!
Questions: Do you like lightning? What do you like about it? Do you think God’s face is brighter than lighting? Why?
Activity: Cut out a lightning bolt from the construction paper. Let the child dip the q-tip in the bowl of water and draw (or “rain”) on the lightning bolt.
Prayer: Dear Lord, You make the rain and lighting and thunder. You are strong and powerful, just like lighting, and we are excited to see Your glory in Heaven someday. Amen!
