Lesson Learned: Your parents pray for you.
Materials Needed: letter to your child
Bible Verse:
1 Samuel 1:26-28
26 and she said to him, “Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD. 27 I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he worshiped the LORD there.
Talking Points: Hannah was a woman in the Bible who wanted a child, but after many years of marriage she had never had a baby. She prayed eagerly for a baby, and God answered her prayer. Hannah knew that if she ever had a child, she would raise him to know and love the Lord, just like your parents want to do for you!
Questions: Did you know your parents pray for you? Do you know that you are special to them? How much do you think they love you?
Activity: Before your devotional time, write a letter to your child telling them how special they are to you and about how maybe you prayed for them before they were born. Read the letter with them and let them keep it as a reminder of your love for them!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, (insert child’s name) is such a blessing. Thank You for bringing our family together. We are so blessed for everyone of our family members. We can never say thank You enough for them. Amen!
