I recently started doing a Bible study with a small group of women at our church.  My desire was that the young children would also learn (not just be babysat) while we learned about His Truth.  So, I put together some easy, simple lessons that even a junior high teacher could share with the kids. We had the kids split into 2 groups. Those younger than 2 were in the nursery and all other kids (2 and up) participated in the lesson.  We had about 15 kids total. It’s been great! The first lesson is that the Bible is True!

The Bible is True; June 6th
9:00-9:15 – Welcome and Play
9:15-9:20 – Clean up
9:20-9:35 – Song time with Sarah (could turn on a kid’s Bible CD also)
9:35-9:45 – Play game like red light, green light or pretend to be different animals and walk across the room or duck, duck, goose, or Simon Says
9:45-10:00 – snack time (pray and thank God for food before handing out); older kids can help pass out
10:00 -10:05 – clean up and bathroom if necessary
10:05 – 10:15 Read stories; Read Bible Verse
10:15-10:35 Craft and activity (See below)
10:35-close; rest of the time can be free time to play and clean up
Bible Verse
Open up the Bible and read this Psalm.  Have the children repeat it several times while marching around in a circle.
Psalm 33:4
For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
Story
God Blesses the Little Children (Mark 10:13-16)
Activity
Before starting ask the children what it means when something is true or false. Explain to them that some books are false and imaginary like stories about super heros and mermaids.  But the Bible is all about God and the Bible is all true!  The Bible was written for you and me to know all about God and all about the Truth!
Have the children stand on one side of the room.  Say something that is true or false. If it’s true, they run across the room to the other side. If it is false, they stay where they are.
To finish, hand each child their own book. Write the child’s name on the front.  Let them draw pictures and put stickers in the book. Encourage older kids to draw their family or their some of their favorite things God has blessed them with.
